PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Farewell from Mrs Thorp – A Wonderful Seven Weeks at Warrane Primary

As Term 2 comes to an end, so does my time at Warrane Primary School. Over the past seven weeks, I’ve had the joy of sharing in learning, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the students, staff, and families who have made this time so special. Working alongside a passionate team of educators, administration staff, teacher assistants and facility attendants has been truly inspiring. Their curiosity, enthusiasm and humour have made every day a delight. A special thank you to Melissa Didham, who joined us as Assistant Principal during this time, and to Jodi Freeman whose leadership and support have been invaluable.

Together at the Table

Last week I had the pleasure of joining our Kinder students and their families for Together at the Table. The lunch was delicious, and the company was even better! It’s always wonderful to see our school community connecting and sharing moments together.

Assembly Highlights

Our assembly on Wednesday, 2nd July was a vibrant celebration of learning across the school. Congratulations goes to students in Kinder, 3–4 Wood, and 1–2 Clarke for their fantastic presentations. Our school choir lifted spirits with performances of Sunshine on a Rainy Day and Happy. Also, a special shout-out to Selestina and Charlie who were awarded Aussie of the Month—well done! Thank you to all WPS families who attended.

Student Reports

Prep–Year 6 teachers have been working hard to finalise student reports in line with the Department’s 2025 Assessment and Reporting Guidelines. These reports reflect your child’s achievements and are developed through collaboration between class teachers and specialists.
Please check your child’s bag this Friday afternoon (4th July) for their mid-year report.

Have a wonderful holiday—stay safe and take care!

Warm regards,
Frances Thorp
